1. Internal company portals. Easily generated the highest quality leads. So ask your friends to post on your behalf.
  2. Reddit. There was less competition and more engagement. I even got roasted for having high rent expectations for where I live T-T.
  3. Facebook Groups. This was a nightmare. Most of the posts never got approved. Some took a week’s time to get posted. Had to pay a couple of folks to get my posts prioritised.
  4. Twitter. You can try twitter if you have a following. I don’t.

What do include in your post

  1. Use high quality pics, natural daylight, wide angle, and clean spaces are a must.
  2. I believe people are willing to over and beyond their budget, if you can match their vibe. Your posts should stand out. Trying to include interesting things you do. Explain your vibe. Note: One thing I realised is that my home did not have a personality and it became harder for me to attract people that I was interested in.

What to look for in a Flatmate

  1. People who cared about the house really stood out. They usually asked questions about cleanliness, cared about the sofa in the hall, rather than just focus on their room, saw potential in the house and were interested in decorating it.
  2. They should not be problematic. You should be looking for qualities such as kindness, politeness and humbleness.
  3. Many people will ghost you and then message a couple of days later. This is bad communication. Ideally you should communicate well with the suitors, even if you don’t have clarity right now, just say so and give them a timeline. The same holds true for the suitors.
